As per the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund, Act 1965, it is mandatory for all factories, plantations, workshops, automobiles, omnibus services, ITBT enterprises, charity trusts, and societies established under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 and Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments employing more than 50 workers, to provide a compulsory contribution towards Karnataka Labour Welfare Board. The last date of such payment of contribution has been extended by the Commissioner of Karnataka Labour Welfare Board via a press announcement from 15th January 2022 to 31st January 2022 for calendar year 2021. Delay in payment of such contribution will attract penalty of 12% for first 3 months and after 3 months it will be 18% on the due amount and the inspections by the Welfare Commissioner.
