NPCI Implements Auto-Acceptance for UPI Chargebacks to Improve Efficiency
To streamline dispute resolution, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is implementing an auto-acceptance/rejection mechanism for chargebacks based on TCC/RET raised by beneficiary banks in the next settlement cycle. This will prevent chargebacks from being closed on deemed acceptance without proper reconciliation, reducing RBI penalties. The revised process applies only to bulk uploads and UDIR, not the front-end option. This will be implemented in URCS with effect from Feb 15, 2025.
